Think of Writing as Building Rather Than Striving!

I’m a fan of making a plan. So I’d never tell you not to outline or not to think ahead before writing. But I am urging you not to get preoccupied with how much work is ahead of you! That can be demoralizing as we try to get through a big project like a novel manuscript.

Instead, view every new paragraph, page, writing session, and each brilliant new tweak you make to your outline as building on what you did before. “Look behind not ahead” when it comes to measuring your progress!

You’ve got this, writers!
