Thumbs Up for the St.James Book Club

I gave the first of a series of workshop sessions for young people last Saturday through the Winnipeg Public Library. The kick-off was with a FABULOUS group of young readers and writers otherwise known as the St. James-Assiniboia Library “Kids Lit” Book Club. What an awesome group – super friendly and energetic…and creative! It’s clear that you enjoy meeting with each other and your book club leader to share your thoughts about all sorts of books. I sure wish there had been a book club for young readers around when I was your age! I am also very honoured that you will be reading my books in the next couple of weeks. By all means send me a note if you have a question or comment – I’d love to hear from you!

I learned so much from you all, too (love that about leading workshops!) and was very impressed with the calibre of the creative writing you dreamed up in such a short space of time – the language and ideas absolutely sparkled.

Together we learned some techniques for making good writing, great writing. It was neat to see these techniques in action – (that Tip Trio really works, doesn’t it?)! Thanks for bringing the most important things of all to the workshop – your writers’ imaginations and a love of reading and telling stories.

Till we meet again!
Karin 🙂
