Teacher’s Corner

Welcome, Teachers!

I’m thrilled that you’re considering using one of my books in your classroom. I know that you probably have lots of ideas for questions, activities, and projects when you read a book with your class, but I also know that you’re busy! That’s why I’ve made a short study guide for each of my books (the guide for No TV? No Fair will be posted on October 7, 2011). You’ll find questions relating to each chapter, creative writing topics, and fun and exciting classroom or small group project suggetsions.

Using My Study Guides

You can use the Study Guides however you want, adpating them to what works best for your students and classroom. Use the questions for discussions after you read a chapter, student journals, short written assignments, quizzes, book trivia games, as a “starting point” for planning your own activities and assignments – whatever!

Projects and Activities Galore!

For a list of bigger-scale, fun projects that you can do as a class or in small groups, click on the Activities link. Feel free to use everything, or pick and choose, or simply get inspired to develop your own list of things to do!

Let Me Know What You Did In Your Class!

When you’re done, let me know what you did in YOUR classroom with my book – I’d love to know! It would be super cool to post photos of projects that your students worked on right here on my site. Just click on Contact to get in touch, and we’ll work out the details!
